Overview

The international market for Business Intelligence and Data warehouse is increasing rapidly and is currently estimated to be in hundreds of billion of US dollars. A number of Indian companies, even in NCR of Delhi, are already carrying out projects in the area. Yet, there is an acute shortage of skilled human resources in the subject and the course attempts to plug this gap.   Students will be taken over the development life cycle of a data warehouse. The application environment in which a data warehouse is embedded shall be brought out so that the value of the new technology is clearly discernible.

Description

Course Objective   To skill students to develop data warehouse systems that meet the decisional needs of an organization

Course Outcomes   Students will be able to
CO1:  Relate data warehousing to decision making
CO2: Elicit required information for a decision
CO3: Design and implement the data warehouse
CO4: Obtain Business Intelligence from the warehouse 

Evaluation

1. Term Paper -10%
2. Quiz-10% (There will be one quiz  towards the end of the course)
3. Class Activities + Assignments- 10%
4. Minor Project-15%
5. Major project-20%
6. Mid Sem- 15%
7. End Sem -20%
